One if by Clam, Two if by Sea

4/23/26 - Thursday Night

Hey all, writing to you from the sun-drenched Ocean Mist Hotel in Yarmouth. It reminds me of the Oceanview Hotel (and Motel) from Alan Wake and Control. Partly because of the dual lamps right next to me...

We crossed the Bourne Bridge at around 750pm et. The curb on the bridge is very high. Great view before we swerved onto the roundabout. New markings?

More of the bridge...plus...! Can't miss Jesse.

Landing the Cruiser

844pm: We made it to the lobby, and then the room! I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the (cherry wood?) headboard. Note the coffee machine adjacent to the TV set. It came with instant coffee, a pack of sugar and powdered creamer, and a few cups.

A table I liked. DEI Thursday and Johnny, the guy on the streets. More Primetime, straight ahead...

The dual lamps I wrote about earlier, nailed to the headboard. And the patio at night. I turned the Bruins game on.

There was no good coffee (hotel instant coffee included in this assessment), so we set out to get one. All the local Dunkins were closed. The only beverage merchants left open in our "arrondissement" were Mickey D's and the hip restaurant chain I cannot recall.

Before and after. Just around 930. We made it back to the room just in time to see the Bruins lose.

A walk on the windswept beach...fishermen were setting up. Plus: The King of Late Night on my bed, nearing page 210.

The author of the great book. The lineup: Kennedy, Tyrus, the chef guy, and Winston Marshall.

Winston looks like a vampire, but he's funny. And British. And could also be mistaken for a very young Munster.

Tucked in at 1116pm or so!

4/24/26 - Friday

5am start for me! A few folks were out on the beach for the sunrise...a photographer and her husband. It reminds me of the scene in Bright Falls: Tammy and Ed Booker. Friendly all around, nonetheless!

The patio by day. And the bathroom...the framed picture is interesting. Do they want me to pee aimed accordingly to the image? Rather, I imagined peeing on the beach.

The Mum and the Dad posed by a nice pine at the beach. Then, we went to Skull Island for some mini golf...

Skipper Chowder House! The Dad and I got a fish sandwich. Perfectly portioned. Usually, the burger buns are small to make the patty look big, which is disappointing, or, the bun is too big.

Here, it fits perfectly!

Back at the resort. Another nice, wind-sculpted tree. And a view from the patio around 430pm.

Coffee run before The Five. Those great lamps once again!

The Will of the People. Negative as usual.

Tyrus, Kennedy, Dagen, and Charlie...curly hair strikes again...

4/25/26 - Another Saturday Night!

A nice ripple of the sunrise...

A leisurely early morning stroll on the beach. And then through the resort town.

A sand castle built by the Dad. Plus: a butternut donut from The Hole In One, West Yarmouth!

Patio days... And the Mum and the Dad, sitting in the hammock!

That just about wraps up one of my favorite vacations....signing off, my Jerredogs and Dungeoneers!
